The Village is in the design stages of the Combined Sewer System Long Term Control Plan required by the Ohio EPA. This plan is designed to eleminate the Combined Sewer Overflows (CSO's) that discharge into the Portage River during certain rain events. The Village has decided to complete a storm and sanitary sewer separation which will include the installation of a new sanitary sewer collection system, then utilize the existing combination sewers as a storm water system that will eliminate all COS's. To learn more about the project, funding options and income survey you may contact Mayor Richard Harman, any Councilmembers or Keith Kruse at 419-849-3031

Update: March 4th, 2011
Current Weather conditions will continue to affect the overall schedule for construction. Linked below is an additional updated schedule for the Sewer Project.

Update: March 2nd, 2011
The river water level continues to prevent the contractor from working on
First St since both the paralleling 42" and 24" sewers are flooded.

They will look to continue construction possibly on Thursday, March 3rd,
with the same schedule as you received for the week of February 28th if the
river levels cooperate. Obviously, they will not get as far as proposed for
the week, as a result of the weather but the overall direction remains the
same.

In the meantime, First Street remains open to local traffic, Emergency
Vehicles and buses.

Update: February 28th, 2011
Please note that the dates listed in the February 25th update, will be pushed back by 1 day,
so instead of running Monday the 28th through Thursday March 3rd, it will take place March 1st
through March 4th.

Update: January 29th, 2011

The following 3 updates are related to documents handed out at the January 26th Meeting.

This document lays out the different phases, maps of what types of lines will be installed, what is required by the home owners to correctly connect to the new sewer system as needed, and what types of waste water may be sent through each system, storm and sanitary sewer.

The second document handed out was a contact form for residents to drop off, or mail in to the Village to set up a, appointment to go over a resident's specific needs or requirements for this project.

Also handed out, was a list of local Plumbers and Excavating contractors. However, these firms are not being recommended nor endorsed by the Village. These are contractors who have contacted the Village with an interest in performing the work needed by residents to connect to the new sewer system.
